CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Two Panthers will open their seasons this weekend when UNI wrestling competes at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite set for Nov. 30-Dec. 1.

Among the expected weekend debuts will be All-American Max Thomsen at 149 pounds. Jack Skudlarczyk will compete at 133 pounds for UNI.

More than 100 ranked wrestlers are expected to take part in the prestigious event.
Â
Joining Thomsen and Skudlarczyk will be Jay Schwarm at 125 pounds, Josh Alber (141 pounds), Patrick Schoenfelder (157 pounds), Bryce Steiert (165 pounds), Taylor Lujan (174 pounds), Drew Foster (184 pounds), Izaak Shedenhelm (197 pounds) and heavyweight Carter Isley.

Alber also led the team in 2015 with a fifth-place finish at 133 pounds. The team took 12th place overall. UNI did not compete at the event in 2016.

UNI AT CLIFF KEEN
Josh Alber led the Panthers to a fourth-place team finish at last year's tournament. He knocked off No. 6 Chad Red of Nebraska to take second overall. Alber fell 8-2 to the eventual national champion Yianni Diakomihalis.Â
