Panthers Finish Exhibition Schedule with Win

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI men's basketball team hosted the Peacocks of Upper Iowa University on Thursday night, defeating the Peacocks 82-63.
The Panthers never trailed the Division II Peacocks, scoring the opening points and never looking back. At half the Panthers held a 40-20 lead, shooting 41.2% collectively from the field.
The second half the Peacocks fought back to within eleven points but were unable to maintain the momentum in the closing minutes.
Freshman AJ Green led the Panthers in scoring with 27 points, shooting 11-19 from the field and 4-9 from beyond the arc. Sophomore Trae Berhow ended the night with a double-double, recording 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Senior Wyatt Lohaus added a double-digit point total, finishing with 16 points in his 29 minutes of play. Lohaus shot 50% from the field and went 3-3 from the free throw line on the night.
Junior forward, Luke McDonnell finished the night with eight points and nine rebounds while also recording two steals.

With the conclusion of the Panthers exhibition games, the team now looks to the regular season. The Panthers host the Bemidji State Beavers in the regular season home opener on Tuesday, November 6.
