CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team open the 2018-19 season with road meets against Nebraska-Omaha and Nebraska.

The Panthers will take on the Mavericks of Nebraska-Omaha at 5 p.m. Oct. 5. The Panthers hosted the Mavericks in Cedar Falls last season, defeating them 189-111. Katie Taylor, Crystal Florman, Moriah Ross and Izzy Bunchek were a few of the Panthers with first-place finishes last season.

The Panthers will take on the Cornhuskers of Nebraska 1 p.m. Oct. 6. Kylie Engstrom, Taylor, Ross, and Florman all had strong performances in the loss to Nebraska in Cedar Falls last season.

Preseason Honors

As announced by the Missouri Valley Conference, the Panthers were picked to finish third in the conference for the upcoming season. The Missouri State Bears were picked to finished first in the conference, followed by Southern Illinois Salukis' in second.
