DUBUQUE, Iowa – Eight Panthers from UNI wrestling medaled at the Pat Flash Flanagan Open today.
Keaton Geerts, a two-time high school state champion from New Hampton, Iowa, earned his first college tournament win. Geerts earned two falls and a sudden victory win en route to a title at 149 pounds. Geerts earned the second fastest fall and the second-most falls in the fastest time of all wrestlers competing at the tournament.
Jack Skudlarcyzk took second at 133 pounds. He has medaled in four collegiate tournaments. He is a four-time state champion as a prep in Texas.
Austin Yant also took second for the Panthers. Yant, of Waverly, Iowa, started the tournament with a major decision win at 165 pounds.
The Panthers notched seven falls on the day.
