PrepVolleyball.com has named Bri Weber its national player of the week and it has also included UNI's win over No. 10 Nebraska as one of its top-five upsets of the past week.

What a week it was for then No. 46 Northern Iowa, which produced a pair of upsets over higher-ranked Iowa State and Nebraska. The Panthers also defeated Omaha while suffering a five-set defeat at the hands of Kansas State. Weber led Northern Iowa in kills in three of the four outings, including tying for a team-high 15 winners in the stunner over the Huskers. She added nine digs, the only time she didn't reach double-digits for the week, which included making 23 saves against Omaha. In the loss to KState, Weber had 22 kills and 17 digs.

How huge of an upset was this one? Considering Northern Iowa had only won one set ever against Nebraska, we would say it's epic. "It was a lot of fun and I'm so proud of our kids," UNI coach Bobbi Petersen said. "I thought Heather (Hook) had an amazing match. She put up hittable balls in every situation." Bri Weber and Karlie Taylor each finished with 15 kills for the Panthers. That shocker overshadowed UNI's upset over No. 18 Iowa State earlier in the week, as the Panthers prevailed in five games, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-11. Piper Thomas led the way in that one with 17 kills. It wasn't all fun and games though for the Panthers, who were edged in five games by Kansas Stateto end the week.
