Bears Singles Play Outlasts Panthers, 5-2

WATERLOO, Iowa--The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team took the doubles point and the first singles match before the Missouri State Bears came back and took the remaining five singles matches.

Jieke Stroobant and Astrid Santos teamed up to defeat Ekaternia Donetskova and Fait Khamissi, 7-5. Gisela Kemper and Sydney Wolfe would net a 6-4 decision over Alye Darter and Alexia Meyer in the No. 2 doubles. Eve Small and Savanna Hunt fell to Anelisse Torrico Moreno and Phoebe Boeschen, 6-2.

Wolfe would grab the only singles victory for the Panthers, defeating Donetskova, 6-1, 6-1.

The Panthers return to action at Byrnes Park at 10 a.m. as the Wichita State Shockers come to town.
