WATERLOO, Iowa---The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team faced a tough opponent in Evansville, losing a close match 4-3.

UNI nabbed the doubles point early to go up 1-0. Gisela Kemper and Sydney Wolfe defeated Nicoli Pereira and Diana Tkachenko 7-6 at the No. 2 doubles. Eve Small and Savanna Hunt defeated Andjela Brguljan and Daria Pentsova, 7-5.

UNI's singles points would come at the No. 3 Kemper and No. 5 Small spots. Kemper netted a 6-0, 6-2 over Pereira. Small went the distance with Soldatou, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-1).

UNI returns to action as they head to the MVC Tournament April 28-30, hosted by Illinois State.
