UNI Wrestling Takes 4th at 2017 Cliff Keen Invite

LAS VEGAS – UNI wrestling finished fourth out at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite, and six Panthers medaled.

Josh Alber led the way with a second-place finish at 141 pounds. He knocked off No. 6 Chad Red of Nebraska in the semifinals but was unable to avenge from earlier this year to Cornell's No. 11 Yianni Diakomihalis, who won 8-2 for the title.

Max Thomsen finished 4th at 149 pounds grabbed a win over No. 14 Josh Maruca of Arizona State, but was edged out 4-3 to No. 11 Ke-shawn Hayes of Ohio State University.

After being edged out 9-6 by the top wrestler in the nation at 174 pounds, Taylor Lujan fell to No. 5 Myles Amine of Michigan in an 11-9 decision to take fourth.

In his season debut, Jacob Holschlag finished fourth at 197 pounds and knocked off one top-20 opponent at the tournament.

Jay Schwarm was seeded 10th but finished fifth at 125 pounds. Drew Foster avenged a loss to Cornell's No. 13 Max Dean with a 9-5 decision before beating No. 8 Jordan Ellingwood of Central Michigan in a 3-1 decision for seventh place.
