The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team are set to host Southern Illinois on Friday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. followed by a Sunday morning game on Jan. 8 against Evansville at 11:30 a.m.

• Madison Weekly is one of just six players in UNI history to score 200+ three-point field goals, ranking No. 3 all-time with 216
• Ellie Herzberg currently ranks fifth in the Valley in field goal percentage, shooting 52-percent from the field through 13 games.
• Both of UNI's starting forwards rank in the top-15 in the Valley in rebounding with Hannah Schonhardt (7.8 rpg) at No. 6 and Megan Maahs (5.5 rpg) at No. 12.
• UNI ranks 30th in NCAA Division I women's basketball in turnovers per game, only averaging 13.5.
• Head coach Tanya Warren holds an overall record of 171-134 in her 10th season at UNI.

About the Salukis: Southern Illinois enters the game 7-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play. They opened the MVC season with a 73-57 win over Loyola, but fell to Indiana State 68-53. The Salukis finished non-conference season 6-5 overall, coming away with several big wins, including defeats over Purdue and Memphis. SIU is led by Senior point guard Rishonda Napier, who is averaging 13.2 points and 4.9 assists.
MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week (Jan. 3): Sophomore Ellie Herzberg earned MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her performance on the court against Missouri State (12/30) and Wichita State (1/1). She is majoring in health promotion with a GPA of 3.85.
Starting Right: UNI started conference play with two wins, beating Missouri State and Wichita State. It is the second time during the Tanya Warren era that UNI has started conference play 2-0 and the fifth time in program history (2016-17, 2014-15, 2006-07, 2004-05, 2000-01).
Arc Game: Angie Davison put in a complete game against Wichita State (1/1), scoring 3-for-4 from the three-point line for nine points, also adding a career-high five rebounds.
Double the Numbers: Ellie Herzberg has scored in double-digits in four consecutive games, turning in 19 points against Wichita State (1/1). She is now averaging 10.2 points in the 11 games she has played in this season.
Shooting for 1,500: Madison Weekly has scored in double-figures in all 13 games this season, adding 12 against Missouri State (12/30) and 14 at Wichita State (1/1). She now has 1,467 through 105 career games, ranking her No. 4 all-time in career points. She passed Allison Starr who had 1,463 from 1996-00.
Stealing Wins: UNI finished with 10 steals in back-to-back games with 10 each against Missouri State (12/30) and Wichita State (1/1). Hannah Schonhardt (3) and Mikaela Morgan (3) had season-high steal totals against the Lady Bears while Ellie Herzberg turned in a season-high four against Wichita State.
Conference Openers: The Panthers are 10-15 all-time in Missouri Valley Conference openers. UNI is 6-4 in conference openers under the direction of Tanya Warren, including three seasons in a row with MVC opening wins.
Hagen's 10: Taylor Hagen scored a career-high 10 points against Missouri State (12/30), also adding a career-high seven rebounds. She shot 50-percent from the field while playing a career-high 25 minutes.
Hammer Down: Senior Hannah Schonhardt finished with a season-high 13 rebounds against the Lady Bears (12/30). Her career-high is 17 against Drake in 2014.
