UNI Rallies for 58-57 Road Victory at SIU

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team rallied from a 12-point deficit in the final eight minutes to score a 58-57 road win over the Southern Illinois Salukis.
UNI (8-11 overall, 3-5 MVC) won its third straight game overall and its first on the road this season. UNI had four players in double-figures with Jordan Ashton leading the way with 14 points.
SIU (11-10 overall, 4-4 MVC) held a 54-42 lead after a Mike Rodriguez three-pointer with 8:22 left in the game. But the Panthers limited the Salukis to only one other made field goal in the closing eight minutes.
Ashton capped the comeback when he dropped in a pair of free throws with :15 left in the game. SIU had two chances to win the game but the shots misfired and the Panthers claimed the victory.
UNI will be back in action at home Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the Evansville Purple Aces.
