Lesjak and Yount Earn MVC Players of the Week Honors

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Sophomores Maddie Lesjak and Brynell Yount have been named the Missouri Valley Conference goalie and offensive player of the week for their performances against Kansas State and Western Illinois.

Lesjak, an Aurora, Colo., native saved five shots between both of the Panther wins, including a shutout of Western Illinois at home. Contributing to the Panthers remaining undefeated at home.

Yount, an Aurora, Colo., native contributed four shots on goal in the wins. She broke the deadlock with Western Illinois with a long solo run that ended in a goal. Shortly after halftime she found her second goal ensuring a Panther victory.

Lesjak and Yount will be back in action Friday at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex against Missouri State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Live stats will be available via UNIPanthers.com.
