UNI Wrestling Closes Out Dual Season at Buffalo

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI wrestling will wrap up its dual season on the road against Buffalo.

UNI is looking to snap a five-dual losing streak, while UB is coming off two wins over the weekend. Buffalo's win over Northern Illinois was its 10th of the season, the most since 2004.

The Panthers will face a young team, with only one senior listed in this week's probable lineup.

BUFFALO'S LINEUP
- 125 – No. 33 Kyle Akins (18-9), redshirt freshman: He leads the team in falls (4) and two-point nearfalls (3). He went 2-2 at the Midlands Championships.
- 133 – Bryan Lantry (17-10), redshirt freshman: He went 26-9 last year. With three falls this year, he's tied for third for the most pins on the team this season.
- 141 – Brandon Lapi (13-14) redshirt freshman: Lapi is looking for his firs MAC dual win of the year. He is 7-8 in duals.
- 149 – Colt Cotten (9-7), sophomore: Injury kept Cotten out of competition for much of last year. He finished 4-3 overall, winning his finals two MAC duals. He is 1-6 in the MAC this year.
- 157 – Alex Smythe (5-5), sophomore: Started as a true freshman, notching a 12-13 record. He has wrestled in two duals this year for the Bulls.
- 165 – Rrok Ndokaj (19-16), junior: His 19 wins makes him second on the team for most victories this season.
- 174 – Muahmed McBryde (6-8), senior or Tyler Rill (11-11), junior: Returns after injury shortened his sophomore season. He went 2-1 last year, winning both of his matches by fall. All of McBryde's wins have come from duals this year. He is 1-5 in the MAC.
- 184 – Joe Ariola (9-13), sophomore: Ariola has scored five four-point nearfalls this season. He is 8-10 in duals and 1-6 in the MAC.
- 197 – James Benjamin (14-13), junior: Benjamin is coming off a 2-0 weekend. His biggest win of the season came Sunday when he pinned No. 16 Shawn Scott of Northern Illinois in 2 minutes, 12 seconds.
- 285 – Jake Gunning (16-10), redshirt freshman: Gunning leads the team in MAC and overall dual wins. He is 5-2 in the MAC and 12-6 in all duals. As a freshman, he attended the USA Wrestling World Cup Training Camp.
