The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team is set to host the Kansas State Wildcats on Thursday, Dec. 22 inside the McLeod Center. The game is set for a 7 p.m. tip with Eric Braley and Elliott Eggleston calling the action on ESPN3.

Game Promotion: Thursday's game is UNI's Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest. Fans can vote for a winner at halftime. First 200 fans in the door Thursday night will get a UNI Panthers car decal as well.

About the Wildcats: Kansas State enters the game against the Panthers 10-1 overall, with its only loss coming at the hands of No. 1 Connecticut, 75-58. They are ranked No. 24 in this week's AP Poll, its first appearance in the AP Poll since 2012. The Wildcats rank 12th in the country in scoring defense, only allowing 51 points per game. On offense, the Wildcats are led by Breanna Lewis (14.5 ppg) and Kindred Wesemann (14.4 ppg). Lewis, a preseason All-Big 12 selection is also averaging 9.1 boards per game, making her a threat on both ends of the court.

Strong Non-Con: With UNI's 74-53 win over North Dakota (12/18), the Panthers are guaranteed to finish the non-conference season at or above .500. It will be the third time in program history the Panthers have finished non-conference season at .500, with all three instances happening under the direction of Tanya Warren.

Ranked Opponents: Kansas State enters the game ranked 24th in the AP Poll, making it the sixth ranked team UNI has faced in the Tanya Warren era. The last time UNI beat a top-25 team was in 2014 when they defeated No. 24 Wichita State in the McLeod Center, 80-71.

Leading Scorer: Madison Weekly has scored in the 20-point range three times this season, including a season-high 23 points against North Dakota (12/18). It was the 24th time in her career to reach the mark.

No Love from the Arc: UNI held North Dakota (12/18) to just one made three-pointer. It was the lowest shooting percentage (1-of-13) from the three against the Panthers this season.

1,400 and Counting: With her 23 points against North Dakota (12/18), Madison Weekly moved into sixth all-time in career points. She now has 1,421 through 102 games, passing Lizzie Boeck who had 1,405 from 2007-11.

High Hopes: Ellie Herzberg scored 21 points against North Dakota (12/18), the second highest point total of her career. She scored a career-high 22 points at IUPUI (11/11/16).

Dime a Dozen: UNI tied its season-high in assists with 18 against North Dakota (12/18). Hannah Schonhardt had a season-high four dimes with Madison Weekly and Mikaela Morgan also adding four each. The last time UNI had 18 assists in a game was against Denver this year.

Rebounding Numbers: Senior Hannah Schonhardt has either led or tied for the lead in rebounds in seven of UNI's 10 games this season. Through 10 games, she is averaging 7.4 rebounds (74 total), with 55 of those coming on the defensive end of the court. It gives her 533 rebounds through 108 games, making her just the 19th player in school history to grab 500-plus rebounds in a career. It also ranks her No. 8 all-time in career defensive rebounds with 439.

Warren Gets Defensive: UNI is 116-17 under the direction of Tanya Warren when holding an opponent to 60 points or less. Five of UNI's top-10 scoring defense averages in school history have come during the Warren era.
