Panthers Streak Snapped, Fall to Aces 3-1

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team saw its four game win streak snapped Sunday, falling 3-1 to the Evansville Aces.
The Panthers conceded a goal early when three minutes in Montana Portenier found the back of the net after a quality dribble. Despite countering with shots from Brynell Yount and Sydney Hayden, the team struggled keeping Evansville out of goal, allowing two more goals in route to a 3-0 halftime deficit.
The Panthers came out the break with renewed energy securing a penalty kick in the 54th minute through Brynell Yount. Sarah Brandt Calmly dispatched the ball into the left corner cutting the score to 3-1. The goal was Brandt's team leading fifth goal of the season.
Despite quality possession in the second half the gap proved too big to overcome, with the Panthers falling 3-1.
Hannah McDevitt and Sarah Brandt led the Panthers with two shots, while five others contributed one shot.
The Panthers (7-5-1) (1-1 MVC) will be back in action against Indiana State this Saturday, Oct. 8. Kickoff is scheduled for noon. Follow along on TV via ESPN3.
