Panthers Down Ramblers 4-1

WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team remained unbeaten at home this season by defeating Loyola, 4-1.
The Panthers scored early and often, with Brynell Yount assisting a Sarah Brandt strike five minutes into the game. The goal was Brandt's team-leading sixth goal of the year.
Six minutes later Claire Netten would tally her first goal of the year, finishing off a scrum in front of goal. Netten became the 11th Panther to register a goal this season.
The Panthers controlled possession for the rest of the half, ultimately paying off in a Jamie Althiser strike that found the back of the net. Her fourth goal of the season.
Kelsey Yarrow would add the fourth UNI goal off an Amber Nieland assist in the 71st minute, all but ensuring the UNI victory.
The Panthers outshot the Ramblers, 20-13, constantly peppering the goal from all angles. Brandt and Yount lead the team with four shots each.
UNI moved to 2-1-2 in Missouri Valley Confernence play, while Loyola dropped to 2-2-0 in league action. The victory vaulted UNI into sole possession of second place in The Valley standings.
The Panthers will pick up action again this Sunday against Iowa State at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and live stats will be available via UNI athletics.
