
Panther Tennis Gets Season Underway Saturday

The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team will get its dual season underway Saturday at 4:30 p.m. as the Panthers take on the University of Texas-El Paso Miners in Ames, Iowa.
UNI will be under the direction of second-year head coach Chris Sagers. He guided the Panthers to a 16-7 dual mark in 2014-15.Â
The UNI roster consists of four juniors, two sophomores and a freshman. The four juniors have a combined 163 career singles wins heading into this spring season. Elvira Lopez has posted 43 singles victories. Astrid Santos has notched a record of 42-21 in singles play. Jieke Stroobant has been credited with 40 singles wins. Sydney Wolfe has tallied 38 career singles triumphs.
