Sycamores Stymie Panthers in 2nd Half, 74-60

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State Sycamores posted a 74-60 victory over the University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team on Wednesday at the Hulman Center. Indiana State's Brenton Scott scored a career-high 30 points as he drained six three-pointers for the Sycamores.
UNI (10-8 overall, 2-3 MVC) started strong and opened up a 12-point first-half lead at 29-17 following a three-pointer by Klint Carlson with 6:23 remaining. UNI would take a 37-30 lead into the intermission.
Indiana State (10-7 outscored UNI in the second half, 44-23. The game was tied 45-45 with 12:47 left in the second half after a Matt Bohannon three-pointer. But the Sycamores went on an 18-3 run to take a 63-48 lead with 8:25 left in the game. Indiana State made nine of its first 13 three-pointers in the second half.
UNI sophomore Bennett Koch tied a career-high with 18 points on 7-of-10 field goals. Senior Wes Washpun added 16 points as he knocked in 8-of-10 free throws.
UNI will be back in action on Saturday at 3 p.m. against the Loyola Ramblers in the McLeod Center.
NOTES: Indiana State out-rebounded UNI, 40-29 ... UNI committed 13 turnovers - the first time in seven games that the Panthers turned it over in double figures ... Matt Bohannon knocked in three 3-pointers for the 12th time this season ... UNI has made at least one 3-pointer in 513 straight games.
