WATERLOO, Iowa - On Saturday, the University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team took on Missouri Valley Conference leading Wichita State Shockers at Byrnes Park and lost by a final tally of 6-1.
UNI's victory came at No. 1 singles as senior Erica Medlin won a third-set tiebreaker over Wichita State's Julia Schiller. Medlin also picked up a doubles win earlier in the day with teammate Elvira Lopez as No. 1 doubles, 8-6.
The Panthers record now sits at 14-6 with a 4-2 record in conference play. The No. 32-ranked Shockers improved to 20-3 overall and 6-0 in MVC play.

Up next for UNI, it will look to close out its regular season against Missouri State tomorrow morning at either the Black Hawk Tennis Club or at Byrnes Park in Waterloo, depending on the weather, at 10 a.m.
