UNI Sweeps Western Illinois For 13th Straight Home Win

The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team notched a 7-0 win over Western Illinois on Saturday at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo.
UNI (4-3) overall got the dual going by taking the doubles point with victories at No. 1 doubles from Elvira Lopez and Jieke Stroobant and at No. 3 doubles from Gisela Kemper and Savanna Hunt.
The Panthers then breezed through the singles play by only dropping nine games in the six matches that were contested. Lopez was spotless in singles as she secured a 6-0, 6-0 win over WIU's Jenna Wallace at No. 2 singles.
UNI has won 13 consecutive home matches dating back over the last two seasons.
The Panthers will be back in action on Sunday with two dual matches scheduled against Milwaukee (10 a.m.) and Upper Iowa (2 p.m.).
