CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI wrestling team will travel to the Finn Grinaker Cobber Open in Moorhead, Minn., before returning to dual action next week at home.
Â
The Panthers haven't competed at the tournament since 2013, when they had seven champions. Junior Dylan Peters won all of his matches by fall to earn his second Finn Grinaker Cobber championship. He also won in 2012 as a freshman wrestling unattached.

Cooper Moore (165 pounds), Cody Caldwell (174 pounds) and Blaize Cabell (heavyweight) also earned titles in 2013. Caldwell has since moved up to the 184-pound weight class.

UNI will open its home season with a dual over No. 9 Missouri at 7 p.m. in the West Gym.

Alber joins three Panthers who have been ranked in all the national polls since preseason. Peters, Moore and Cabell are all in the top 10 of every national poll.

Peters, Moore and Cabell continue to lead the MAC rankings, but the team has moved down to fifth. Â

Redshirt freshman Josh Alber cracked the top-20 national rankings and the Mid-American Conference poll after a win over No. 19 Anthony Giraldo of Rutgers. The Open Mat ranked him at No. 14, and Intermat has him as No. 19.Â
