UNI Lands Four On MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team had four student-athletes named to the 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team, it was announced today by league officials.
Brooke Brown headlines the Panthers on the Scholar-Athlete team, earning first team honors. This is the second year in a row that the junior has been honored by the MVC for her academic success after being named to the honorable mention squad last season.
Brown has started all 29 games for UNI this season, averaging 28.5 minutes and 8.3 points per game. She has reached double figures 11 times this season while averaging 10.3 points per game during MVC play. The junior from Chanhassen, Minn. is a biology major with a 3.98 GPA.
Jen Keitel was named to the Scholar-Athlete second team, receiving her first career MVC academic award. Keitel is leading the team in points this season, averaging 27.3 minutes and 13.2 points per game. She is currently leading the MVC in field goal percentage, shooting 58.2 percent from the field. She has shot 70 percent or higher four games in a row. The DeWitt, Iowa native is currently majoring in criminology and psychology with a 3.32 GPA.
Brittni Donaldson earned honorable mention status for the 2014 Scholar-Athlete team. She was also named MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her performance on and off the court for the week of Feb. 24-March 2.
Donaldson has started the last 19 games for the Panthers at the point guard position, averaging 19.8 minutes and 7.6 points per game this season. During MVC play, the junior has been posting an average of 10.4 points and 24.2 minutes while includes her career-high 34 points and school record eight made three-pointers against Drake on March 2. Donaldson is majoring in statistics and actuarial science with a 3.56 GPA.
Stephanie Davison joins Donaldson on the honorable mention squad after also earning MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 6-12. Davison is just one of two players on the team that has started all 29 games, averaging 28.0 minutes and 10.4 points per game. She is currently a double major in graphic technologies and art and graphic design while holding a 3.74 GPA.
