UNI Loses to Indiana State 1-0

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team traveled to face Indiana State on Friday night to suffer its first conference loss of the season by a final score of 1-0.
The Panthers faced another defensive struggle on Friday as they traveled to face the Sycamores on the road during a rainy night.
Indiana State's Sydney Loesing and Sydney Lovelace broke away from the Panther defense in the 21st minute of the first half as Lovelace connected with Loesing to slip a shot past UNI's Whitney Blunt for the lone score of the game.
On the night, the two teams played a fairly even match as Indiana State out shot UNI by a total of four shots.
For the Panthers, Maggie Riley lead the team in shots with two being on goal. The loss brings UNI's conference record to 0-1-1 thus far into conference play with four games left on the conference schedule.
Up next for UNI, the Panthers travel to face conference power-house Illinois State in Normal, Illinois on Wednesday, October 15th. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
