Miller Completes Day One At NCAA Indoor Championships

The heptathlon featured the 60 meter dash, long jump, shot put and high jump today, with the pole vault, 60 meter hurdles and the 1,000 meter run starting tomorrow. Miller is currently in 12th place after the first four events.
Miller opened competition with a 7.09 finish in the 60 meter dash. He followed the sprint portion of the day with a jump of 23-03.25 in the long jump. In the shot put ring, Miller threw for a distance of 38-00.00.
To finish the day's competition, Miller tied for seventh in the high jump. The senior came away with a jump of 6-06.25.
"Ethan fought through a pretty rough first day of competition," head coach Dan Steele said. "He stayed composed through some scary moments and put himself in position to have an exciting day two."
Miller will return to action tomorrow to conclude the men's heptathlon. The event will start at 11:00 a.m. with the men's 60 meter hurdles.
