UNI Nets 4-3 Win at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team tallied its third win in four matches during its spring break trip to Tennessee with a 4-3 win over Lipscomb University on Wednesday.

UNI (6-4 overall) won the doubles point and added three singles victories to secure the dual triumph. UNI's No. 1 doubles duo of Phoebe Walker and Krissy Lankelma notched a 9-7 win over Lipscomb's Deahna Welcher and Jenny Borck. The Panthers' No. 2 doubles pairing of Chelsea Moore and Jessica King posted an 8-6 win over Lipscomb's Alyssa Bellini and Lorena Djuknic.

The Panthers' top three singles players were victorious clinching the dual win. Walker scored a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over Welcher. Lankelma won her seventh consecutive singles match with a 6-3, 7-6 win over Melissa Kromer. Moore posted a 7-5, 7-6 win at No. 3 singles over Djuknic.

UNI will be in action again Fri., March 29, at Iowa State. The Panthers and Cyclones will begin their dual at 4 p.m. in Ames, Iowa.
