UNI WBB Posts 64-58 Exhibition Win Over Upper Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team scored a 64-58 exhibition victory over Upper Iowa University in the McLeod Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers led by as many as 17 points in the first half only to see the Peacocks whittle the margin down to four in the final minute of regulation. Freshman guard Madison Weekly knocked down a pair of free throws with 24 seconds left to ice the game for the Panthers.
Weekly scored a team-high 14 points and handed out four assists for the Panthers. Redshirt freshman Erin Dohnalek drained a pair of three-pointers in the final five minutes of regulation and posted 13 points to help the home squad.
UNI will open its regular season Sat., Nov. 9, at home in the McLeod Center against Minnesota. Tip is set for Noon for the Panthers and Gophers.
