Panthers Drop Contest to UWGB

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell to the University of Wisconsin Green Bay on Friday night, 1-0. The game was delayed during the second half due to weather.
Green Bay scored in the 77th minute when Ahna Logan hit a crossing pass that Megan Braatz headed into the back of the net for the score.
UNI was outshot by the Phoenix eight to five including being bested in shots on goal, one to zero. The Panthers held the advantage in corner kicks, six to three.
Five Panthers tallied a shot in the game including seniors Kiki McClellan, Kelsey Dolder, and Melissa Hagan. The other two shots came from sophomore Charlotte Jones and freshman Maddie Welch.
Junior goalkeeper Erin Zaideman turned away two Green Bay shots while allowing the lone and decisive goal for the Phoenix.
The Panthers will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they face off with the hosts, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Cougars. Kickoff for the match is set for 2:00 p.m.
