Drake Gets Best of UNI

DES MOINES, Iowa- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team lost a close match up with Drake University this afternoon in Des Moines. The Bulldogs defeated the Panthers 4-3.
In doubles, Cassandra Dix and Krissy Lankelma fell to Gabriela Demos and Manca Krizman of Drake 8-4 in the No. 1 match. Jessica Kunzelmann and Nina Pfahler won their No. 2 match against Jessica Aguilera and Klavdija Rebol of Drake 9-8 (5). In the No. 3 match, Chelsea Moore and Stefannia Sampaio defeated Amanda Aragon and Nell Boyd of Drake 8-3.
In singles, Pfahler fell to Krizman of Drake 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 match. Drake's Rebol got the best of Dix in the No. 2 match defeating her 6-4, 6-2. Kunzelmann defeated Demos of Drake 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 3 match. With this win, Kunzelmann is now the solo leader on the all-time career singles win list with 87 wins. In the No. 4 match, Moore won a close match up against Boyd of Drake 0-6, 6-1, 7-6 (5). Lankelma fell to Aguilera of Drake 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 5 match. Sampaio was defeated by Patterson of Drake 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 6 match.
The Panthers will return to the court on the April 7 when they take on Bradley University at 1:00 p.m. at home.
