Panthers Stomp the Braves

Peoria, Ill.- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team (11-7) defeated Bradley University 6-1 on the road this afternoon. The Panthers are now 2-0 in conference play.
In doubles play, Laia Gonzalez-Garrido and Phoebe Walker blew past Nicole Miller and Sarah Rodefeld of Bradley 8-2 in the No. 1 match. Lara Okicki and Chelsea Moore dominated their No. 2 match, defeating Bradley's Meredith McDonagh and Brigette Graf 8-0. Krissy Lankelma and Jessica Kunzelmann won their No. 3 match by default.
Panthers continued their winning ways in singles play. Walker defeated Miller of Bradley 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 match. Gonzalez fell to Bradley's Rodefeld 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 in the No. 2 spot. Okicki won her No. 3 match, dominating McDonagh 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 4 match, Kunzelmann blew past Roth of the Braves 6-0, 6-0. Moore defeated Graf of Bradley 6-1, 6-0 in her No. 5 match. Lankelma won her No. 6 match by default.
The Panthers return to the court tomorrow when they face Illinois State at 10:00 a.m. in Normal, Illinois.
