Panther Tennis Adds Another MVC Win

Waterloo, Ia.- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team (15-7) continued its MVC winning streak today, defeating Creighton University 7-0 this morning at home. The Panthers are now 6-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
In doubles, Laia Gonzalez-Garrido and Phoebe Walker defeated Anna Kirshenbaum and Analese Snyder of Creighton 8-2 in No. 1 match. Lara Okicki and Chelsea Moore took down twins Leesa and Sarah Cadwallader of CU 8-3 in the No. 2 match. Krissy Lankelma and Jessica Kunzelmann dominated their No. 3 match, defeating the Bluejay's Kelsey Schmidt and Lauren Mastro 8-2.
Singles play was just as successful for the Panthers. Walker defeated Kirshenbaum of Creighton 6-1, 6-3. Gonzlaez won her No. 2 match 6-2, 4-6 (10-5) against Schmidt of CU. In the No. 3 spot, Okicki cruised past Snyder 6-2, 6-0. Kunzelmann continued her climb up the single season all-time wins list by defeating Creighton's Mastro 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 match. Moore won her No. 5 match against Sarah Cadwallader 6-0, 6-2 while Lankelma took down Leesa Cadwallader 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 6 match.
The Panthers will play their final match of the regular season tomorrow when they take on Wichita State at 10:00 a.m. at the Black Hawk Tennis Club.
