Waterloo, Iowa.- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team stayed on a roll, defeating the South Dakota Coyotes 7-0 at home tonight at the Black Hawk Tennis Club. UNI defeated UMKC earlier in the day, 7-0, as well.
In doubles, Laia Gonzalez-Garrido and Phoebe Walker defeated the South Dakota team of Veronika Makashov and Kelsi Foster 8-1 in the No. 1 Doubles match. Jessica Kunzelmann and Krissy Lankelma defeated Alena Sergeychik and Ysabel Nunez of South Dakota 8-1 in the No. 2 Doubles match. In the No. 3 Doubles match, Chelsea Moore and Lara Okicki beat the South Dakota team of Maddy Warder and Marina Kiefer 8-2.
UNI continued their perfect play in the singles portion. Walker defeated Sergeychik of USD 6-2, 6-1, in the No. 1 Singles match. In the No. 2 Singles match, Okicki beat the Coyote's Makashov 6-1, 6-0, in the NFo.2 Singles match. Kunzelmann cruised past Nunez of South Dakota 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 3 Singles match. In the No.4 Singles match, Lankelma defeated Kiefer 6-0, 6-2. Moore soundly defeated the Coyote's Warder 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 5 Singles match. In the No.6 Singles match, Delagardelle blew past Foster 6-3, 6-0.
The Panthers return to action Sunday when the take on the Western Illinois Leathernecks at 10 a.m. at the Black Hawk Tennis Club.
