Panthers Get Another Win on the Weekend

Waterloo, Ia.- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers 6-1 at home this afternoon. They also beat Green Bay yesterday with a score of 7-0.
In doubles, Laia Gonzalez-Garrido and Phoebe Walker defeated Milwaukee's Megan Gow and Kelly Fritz 8-0 in the No. 1 match. In the No.2 match, Krissy Lankelma and Jessica Kunzelmann fell to Maddy Soule and Brittany Kemp of Milwaukee 8-2. Chelsea Moore and Lara Okicki won a tough battle against Sammi Schoen and Kristin Kurer of Milwaukee, 8-6 in the No.3 Doubles match.
In singles play, Walker fell to Soule of UWM 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the No. 1 match. Gonzalez defeated Fritz of Milwaukee 6-3, 6-7, 6-1 in the No. 2 spot. In the No. 3 Singles match, Okicki cruised past Gow 6-0, 6-3. Kunzelmann defeated Schoen of Milwaukee 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 match. Lanklema also dominated her No. 5 match, defeating Skemp 6-2, 6-1. Moore continued on her hot streak, beating Kurer of UWM 5-7, 6-4, (10-8).
The Panther women return to action tomorrow morning as they take on the North Dakota Fighting Sioux at 9:00 AM at the Black Hawk Tennis Club.
