WATERLOO, IOWA -- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell behind early and allowed four second-half goals in a 6-0 loss to the University of Iowa on Sunday afternoon at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.
Six different Hawkeyes scored goals in the match, and Iowa outshot UNI by a margin of 19 to 7.
Dana Dalrymple opened the scoring in the 24th minute for Iowa. Leah DeMoss added a goal in the 30th minute to put Iowa ahead 2-0 at the half.
Iowa (4-1-0) added four second-half goals -- all in a stretch of 16 minutes -- to put the Panthers away. Alyssa Cosnek, Sarah Langlas, Ashley Catrell and Stefani Campbell all found the back of the net for the Hawkeyes. Campbell also had two assists for the game.
Junior Lauren Potzman started in goal for UNI and played the first half, recording four saves. Freshman Erin Zaideman took over at halftime and played the entire second half, making three saves.
Senior Chelsie Hochstedler registered three shots to lead the Panthers. Ashley Sill had two shots on goal.
UNI (0-4-0) will return to action on Fri., Sept. 10, with a 7:30 p.m. match at Green Bay.
