Panthers End Regular Season with 6-1 Win Over Bradley

WATERLOO, IOWA – UNI women's tennis ended their regular season on a high note Sunday, defeating conference foe Bradley, 6-1. The victory puts the Panthers at 11-9 overall and 4-3 in conference play for the season.
The Panthers swept all three of the doubles matches to earn their initial point. Sampada Kanade and Jessica Kunzelmann won their match at the No. 2 spot, defeating Kelly Donohue and Jessica Buterbaugh, 8-6. UNI concluded the doubles sweep as Stefannia Sampaio and Katy Delagardelle cruised past Bradley's Graf and Scott 8-2.
UNI continued their success onto the singles competition, only dropping one match. Walker, competing at the No. 1 spot, was defeated by Nicole Miller 0-6, 6-2, 6-4. Gonzalez-Garrido topped Regenold, 7-5, 6-0. Kanade handled Donohue, 6-1, 6-1. Kunzelmann improved her team-best singles record to 22-7 for the fall and spring seasons as she defeated Buterbaugh, 6-1, 6-0. Sampaio, competing at the No. 5 spot, defeated Scott 6-0, 6-2. At the No. 6 spot, Delagardelle defeated Graf 6-0, 6-0.
“It was a really good win today, especially for the senior Sampada Kanade. Now we have to take this momentum into the MVC Team Championships next weekend,” said Sachin Kirtane.
The Panthers now turn their attention to the MVC Team Championships that will be held in Wichita next weekend.
