
Panthers Finish Final Day At Iowa Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa finished their last day of competition at the Iowa Invitational. The Panthers finished the invite in eighth place with 78 points. The University of Denver took the top-spot with 1052.5 points.
Chelsea Hartman finished in 11th place in the 1,650 freestyle. She clocked in with a time of 17:33.54. Teammates Stephanie Yattoni and Kathleen Varner also competed in the finals of the 1,650 freestyle. Yattoni finished with a time of 18:14.37, followed by Varner in 20:24.93, taking 17th and 24th respectively.
In the 200 breaststroke, Sarah Hedeen finished with a time of 2:32.85. She finished in 24th place.
The relay team of Stephanie Frederick, Josie Itzen, MacKenzie Smith and Rebecca Ortmann took 11th in the 400 freestyle relay. The quartet clocked in with a time of 3:38.80.
The Panthers return to action at home against Minnesota State, Mankato on Jan. 14, 2011. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m.
