Larsen Guides Panthers to 6-0 Win over Western Illinois

pitched her second complete game of the season and improved to 3-0 in the pitcher's circle this year. Larsen yielded just two hits in the contest and walked one.
The Panthers got off on the right foot in the bottom off the first inning after Larsen retired the side in order to start the game. Lead off hitter singled and advanced to second on the throw followed by freshman shortstop Kelly Papesh continued the UNI fireworks in the bottom of the fifth opening the inning with a home run down the left field line. The home run was the second of the season for Papesh and 13th of her career. Freshman Hannah Borschel singled following the Papesh home run and scored on a wild pitch for the Panthers' final score of the game.
Notes:
The Panthers started the season 4-1 for the second straight year.
The Panthers have hit a home run in four of their five games this year.
Six players tallied hits in the game for the Panthers.
