CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Despite outshooting Evansville, the University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Purple Aces Friday evening. UNI outshot Evansville 16-11 in the contest.
After holding the Purple Aces scoreless through the first half, Evansville's Kristen Davis found the back of the net in the 62nd minute to give Evansville the 1-0 edge.
Melissa Hagan led the Panther offensive attack, recording three shots, including two on-goal. Five different Panthers took two shots in the contest as well. Goalkeeper Lauren Potzman finished the night with six saves.
The Panthers return to action Sunday when they travel to Ames, Iowa to face intrastate rival Iowa State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
