
Panthers Fall to Iowa State, 2-0

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa soccer team was unable to find the back of the net, falling 2-0 to Iowa State Sunday afternoon. Five Panthers took shots at the goal, but Iowa State's goal keeper Ann Gleason kept the Panthers from scoring.
Iowa State's Amanda Nimtz put the Cyclones first score on the board at the 74:27 mark. Jordan Bishop and Lauren Odino were credited with the assist for the Cyclones. Nimtz added her second goal of the day for the Cyclones in the 84th minute, this time off a Leslie Hill assist.
UNI struggled against the Cyclone defense, taking just five shots in the contest. Iowa State managed to take 22 shots, with ten shots coming on goal.
Panther goalkeeper Lauren Potzman registered eight saves in the contest.
UNI will return to the field Friday, Sept. 12 to host Iowa. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be played at the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Complex.
