Wichita State moved in front, 17-14, but UNI was able to pull back even, 19-19, as Sampson had three straight kills. Wichita State took the lead for good on the next point on a kill by Emily Stockman, and although UNI was within one point as late as 25-24, the Panthers were never able to tie the Shockers again. Leading 28-26, WSU got kills from Stockman and Sara Lungren to win the first game, 30-26.

The Shockers then scored four straight to go up 29-24, and after UNI scored three straight to make the score 29-27, Eckenrode recorded a kill to give WSU game three, 30-27.
The Panthers held a 16-12 lead midway through game four, but WSU battled back again. The Shockers went on a 7-2 run to go in front, 19-18, forcing UNI to take a timeout. The Shockers continued their streak out of the timeout, claiming a 24-20 lead, before UNI came storming back. WSU had five straight attack errors - two coming on Panther blocks - and Rowen added a kill during a 7-0 run that saw the Panthers go in front, 27-24. But WSU scored four straight of its own to go in front 28-27. UNI had two game point opportunities at 30-29 and 31-30, while WSU finally took advantage of its second match point opportunity at 32-31, as Stockman recorded a kill to give WSU the 33-31 win and the match victory.
