For the second straight day the Panthers found themselves rallying after losing the doubles point. The Panthers only win in doubles came at the No. 3 spot where Meghana Paritala (Secunderabad, India) and Sara Kendall (Brisbane, Queensland) defeated the duo from ISU 8-7 (7-4) in a close, hard fought match.
In singles Paritala found herself in another fiery match against Katri Miller of ISU. Paritala sat out Friday's match due to a back injury and endured the pain to take a three set nail-biter Saturday 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 6-4.
Agnese Pukse (Riga, Latvia) and Meredith Esbeck (West Des Moines, Iowa) also notched wins for the Panthers in singles. Pukse had a decisive victory at No. 2 winning 6-2, 6-4. Esbeck, down one set and two games in the second set, fought back to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 6 spot.
The Panthers drop to 11-4 on the season and 1-3 in the conference. UNI will take on Bradley Sunday at the Black Hawk Tennis Club. The match is set to get underway at 11 a.m.
