The University of Northern Iowa men's golf team faced off against the Creighton Bluejays today at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. The course has a par of 72 and carries 6,805 yards.

Despite windy conditions, UNI sophomore Blake Hibben (Cedar Falls, Iowa/NU High) was able to card a 64 in the first round, breaking the school record (66) set earlier this is season by Jordan Weber (Bernard, Iowa/Cascade). Hibben and senior Travis Marting (Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert) shared medalist honors with 137s. As a team, the Panthers broke the school record shooting 11 under-par in the first round (277).

The next competition for the Panthers is April 24-25 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Wichita, Kan.
