Panthers Down in First Day of Two-Day Dual with Kansas

The University of Northern Iowa women's swim team fell behind tonight in two-day dual with the University of Kansas. The Panthers won none of the eight events and were in the top three finishes in three events.
The only second-place Panther finish of the night was the 200-yard medley relay consisting of freshman Abby Girard (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), freshman Amanda Firman (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), senior Rachael Robnett (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Lake City), and freshman Maggie Rickert (Hudson, Iowa/Hudson). Their finishing time was 1:55.22.
Robnett earned three points for the Panthers with her third-place finish in the 100-yard breast, 1:13.25. Firman also claimed third with her 55.82 finish in the 100-yard free.
The Panthers will compete with Kansas in the 14 remaining events tomorrow (Nov. 4) at 10 a.m. in Lawrence, Kan.
