UNI head coach Ben Jacobson
"It was a different kind of week with the trip to Washington and the opening of the McLeod Center, but I give our guys a lot of credit for staying focused. We were focused on Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
"Our goal was to contain their dribble penetration early and I thought we did that until about the seven or eight-minute mark of the second half. But we put them in the bonus too early in the second half."
"We are going to be balanced and that is going to go beyond our five starters. Each night you are going to see two or three different guys step up and score with Stout and Coleman.
"(The McLeod Center) was awesome. It couldn't have turned out any better. To see your fans and everybody so close was great. The student section got rowdy and they got loud in a hurry. This is a big-time basketball arena."
UNI sophomore guard Travis Brown
"This is a great facility. It was really exciting tonight. It was a lot different student section because you could definitely hear the noise more. Now it will be up to the fans to see how loud and crazy they want to be."
UW-Milwaukee head coach Rob Jeter
"Points in the paint was the story of the game. They dominated us. That was the biggest difference."
"We held Stout under his average and we got Coleman into foul trouble, but we just couldn't come up with some baskets. We knew we had to weather the storm early but we struggled at the beginning.
"It was loud down there and well lit."
