
Panthers Defeated by Northern Colorado and Nebraska-Omaha

The University of Northern Iowa Women's Swim team lowered its dual meet record to 2-9, losing to Northern Colorado, 227-70 and Nebraska-Omaha, 195-98 today at a double-dual meet in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Panthers won one of 16 events with freshman Katie Maloy (Auburn, Ind./R. Nelson Snider) claiming first-place in the 1000-yard free. Her finishing time was 10:58.73, breaking her own record in the UNI Women's All-Time Top Five. Maloy then finished third in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:23.74.
Freshman Abby Moes (Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City East) raced into second-place in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:17.49 and came in third in the 100-yard back with a time of 1:03.19.
Another freshman Katie Klinkenborg (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) claimed second in the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:17.95 and finished third in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:03.69.
Junior Megan Little (Lawrence Kan./Lawrence) followed Klinkenborg in the 200 fly, earning third-place with a time of 2:21.50, a career best for Little.
The Panthers will be in action at home against the Iowa, Friday (Feb.3rd) at 5:00p.m.
