Panthers Post 77-50 Exhibition Win over Lewis.

Cedar Falls, Iowa - Sophomore center Eric Coleman (Maplewood, Minn.) scored a game-high 14 points to help lead the University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team to a 77-50 win over Lewis University in an exhibition game at the West Gym.
Coleman hit 7-of-11 shots from the field, and also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals in just 20 minutes of action. He was joined in double digits by UNI senior guard Ben Jacobson (Sioux City, Iowa) who had 12 points. Jacobson also dished out seven assists -- with no turnovers -- and had two steals in 23 minutes.
Sophomore center Atila Santos (Salvador, Brazil) had seven points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Panthers. A total of 14 players saw the floor for UNI, with 12 scoring. No player logged more than 23 minutes.
The Panthers shot 51.8 percent from the field for the game, including 62.5 percent in the second half. UNI also connected on 12-of-21 from three-point range (57.1 percent), and had 23 assists on 29 made field goals. The Panthers' defense held Lewis to just 39.0 percent shooting from the field, and forced 20 Flyers turnovers.
Stephan Bolt led Lewis with team highs of 12 points and seven rebounds.
This was the first of two exhibitions for UNI. The Panthers will play Wayne State (Neb.) on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 5:05 p.m. in the West Gym in their final tune-up. UNI opens its regular season Sunday, Nov. 20 against Western Carolina, at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, at 6:30 p.m.
