PANTHER SWIMMERS FALL TO ILLINOIS STATE 237-63

Cedar Falls, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's swim team fell to the Redbirds of Illinois State University 237-63 in the Wellness and Recreation Pool this afternoon. The Panthers lowered their dual meet record to 0-4 after finishing first in one of 16 events.
Freshman Abby Moes (Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City East) was the one Panther swimmer to come up with a first-place finish, timing in at 1:02.75 in the 100-yard back. Sophomore Amanda Lopez (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) also earned points in the same event, coming in second with a time of 1:03.69 for four points. Junior Erin Danielson (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) claimed third-place in the 100 back (1:04.37).
Moes pulled through again for the Panthers in the 200-yard back, finishing second with a time of 2:17.51. Other individual second-place finishes for the Panthers include Freshman Ashley Hunter (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North) in the 100-yard free (56.54) and Freshman Katie Maloy (Auburn, Ind./R. Nelson Snider) in the 500-yard free (5:25.19).
Junior Rachael Robnett (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Lake City), Hunter, Maloy, and Danielson raced in with a time of 3:44.94 in the 400-yard free relay, claiming second-place and earning four points for the Panthers.
The swimmers are back into competition Saturday (Nov. 11-12) in Milwaukee, Wisc. to face off with Wisconsin-Milwaukee and North Dakota.
