
UNI Swimmers Fall 160-95 to University of Nebraska

Lincoln, Nebraska - The University of Northern Iowa women's swim team traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska where they fell to the University of Nebraska Huskers with a score of 160-95. The Panthers claimed top three finishes in three of the 16 events.
Freshman Katie Klinkenborg (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) earned the first Panther victory of the night with a time of 1:03.27 in the 100 yard fly. In the same event, senior Kendra Ryan (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Hutchinson) placed second, timing in at 1:06.78 and at third, junior Megan Little (Lawrence, Kan./Lawrence) with a time of 1:08.25.
The Panthers' best event was the 200 yard IM, where they held the top four finishes. Sophomore Amanda Lopez(Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) led this event with a time of 2:24.05 and in second, at 2:24.86 was freshman Abby Moes(Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City East). Racing in at third, with a time of 2:25.13 was freshman Lauren Stork(Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center Senior) and sophomore transfer LiAnne Choitz(Buckeye, Ariz./Buckeye Union/New Mexico State University) came in fourth (2:27.62).
The final Panther victory of the night was in the 400 yard free relay. Freshman Ashley Hunter, freshman Katie Maloy, junior Erin Danielson, and senior Rachael Robnett finished first(3:47.81).
The swimmers are back into competition Saturday (Oct. 29th) in Green Bay, Wisc. at a dual meet with Wisconsin-Green Bay.
