UNI trailed 30-23 going into the halftime break but battled back to score 35 points in the second half. In the second period UNI was 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) from the field but a meager 2-of-11 from downtown (18.2 percent). The Panthers also committed 24 turnovers in the game.
Northwestern turned in a strong performance from the free-throw line connecting on 22-of-26 (84.6 percent) in the second half alone.

The closest the Panthers would get was within three points with 47 seconds remaining, but Sarah Kwasinski hit a pair of free throws and a jumper in addition to two free throws from senior Samantha McComb to ice the game.
UNI drops to 4-4 on the season while Northwestern improves to 2-9. The Panthers will face Puerto Rico Mayaguez on Tuesday at 3:00pm (CST).
