Mike Murray joined Panther Sports Properties in March 2024. Panther Sports Properties solely represents the University of Northern Iowa. In complete collaboration with the university, this locally based LEARFIELD team is committed to extending the affinity of the UNI brand to businesses and corporations of all sizes looking to align with the undeniably loyal and passionate collegiate fan base.
As UNI Athletics’ exclusive multimedia rightsholder, Panther Sports Properties manages all aspects of the rights relationship, providing corporate partners both traditional and new media opportunities with the university. Partners can bolster their own brand and garner maximum exposure through such inventory as venue signage; event sponsorships and promotion; corporate hospitality; radio and television; digital engagement and visibility via the official athletics website UNIPanthers.com.
As general manager of Panther Sports Properties, Murray serves as the primary Learfield liaison related to the university's comprehensive athletics multimedia rights agreement and corporate partner platform. He works closely with UNI's Director of Athletics and the entire athletics administration on all aspects of the Learfield/UNI relationship.
Murray brings extensive industry experience to the Panther Sports Properties team. Most recently, he served as the chief commercial officer for the Reno Aces Baseball Club in Nevada, where he led teams in deploying high-grossing ticket sales strategies and delivering innovative marketing solutions. Prior to his role with the Aces, he held positions with the Lotus Radio Corporation as both station manager and general manager. Murray holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Northern Iowa and a sports management certificate from NYU's Fundamentals of Global Sports Management program.
In addition to UNI, Learfield Sports manages multimedia rights for nearly 200 collegiate institutions and associations. LEARFIELD, based in Plano, Texas, is a media, data, and technology services leader in intercollegiate athletics. The company unlocks the value of college sports for brands and fans through an omnichannel platform with innovative content and commerce solutions. LEARFIELD services include licensing and collegiate sports properties’ multimedia sponsorship management; publishing, audio, digital and social media; data analytics and insights; ticketing software and ticket sales; branding; campus-wide business and sponsorship development; and venue technology systems. Since 2008, it has served as title sponsor for NACDA’s acclaimed LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup, recognizing athletic departments across all divisions.
