Amellia Bromenschenkel joined UNI ahead of the 2025-26 season following a historic playing career at Purdue Fort Wayne, where she appeared in a program-record 147 games and etched her name throughout the record book. She concluded her career ranked in the top-10 in school history in points (1,536), rebounds (516), made field goals (568), three-pointers (173), steals (183), and blocks (80).
A three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and seven-time Horizon League Academic Honor Roll member, Bromenschenkel combined high-level performance with academic excellence. She was named to the All-Horizon League teams three times - First Team in 2023-24, Second Team in 2024-25, and Third Team in 2022-23 - and was a key contributor in multiple postseason runs, including standout performances in the WNIT.
In her final season, she started all 36 games and earned All-Horizon League Second Team and All-Tournament honors. Bromenschenkel averaged 11.4 points per game, scoring in double figures 27 times. She was especially effective late in the season, averaging 15.9 points over the final seven games, including 25 points against Butler in the WNIT Super 16 and 23 against Cleveland State in the Horizon League Championship semifinal.
Originally from Mendota, Illinois, Bromenschenkel enrolled early at Purdue Fort Wayne after a standout high school career. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA, earned High Honors every semester, and was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.
