Chelsea Lowe is entering her fourth year as the Athletic Trainer for the UNI volleyball program. She joined UNI back in summer of 2016. Chelsea is responsible for coordination of Secondary Insurance for the athletic department as well as oversight of both the swimming and diving team and cheer and dance teams. She is a preceptor for the Athletic Training Division Entry-Level Master’s Program, and a clinical Instructor for the undergraduate rehabilitation studies program. She recently received the Outstanding Preceptor Award for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.
Prior to UNI Lowe served as an assistant athletic trainer at Bowling Green State University from 2012-2016. She worked directly the Falcon football and swimming and diving programs. Bowling Green captured two Mid-American Conference championships and took part in four bowl games in her tenure with the Falcons. She also supervised coverage of gymnastics, softball, track and field, cross country and cheerleading programs. She served as the BGSU athletic department's representative on the school's LGBTQ Advisory Board.
She received her bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2009. She earned a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Kansas in 2011 while working with the Kansas Swimming and Diving teams. She then completed an Internship with the University of Denver where she was responsible for coverage of the Pioneer volleyball and women’s ski teams.
Chelsea is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Mid-American Athletic Trainer’s Society, College Athletic Trainers Society and Iowa Athletic Trainers Society. She is also a member of Women Leaders in College Sports.
Chelsea and her husband, Benjamin, have a son, Tyler, and a daughter, Elizabeth. The family resides in Waverly.Â
